**Diventare adulti**

«In stato di grazia» è una favola inchiesta sulla vita di alcuni minori con disabilità: dal concepimento alla nascita, dall'ingresso a scuola alla pubertà, fino a immaginare un futuro di indipendenza dai loro genitori.

Lo spettacolo è nato da un percorso creativo laboratoriale che mirava a far dialogare bambini abili con bambini disabili. In scena, ormai cresciuti, 8 adolescenti di età compresa tra gli 11 e i 19 anni. Il punto di partenza del lavoro è stata la favola di Pinocchio. La relazione tra Pinocchio e Geppetto, e più in generale quella tra genitori e figli, è stata uno dei temi fondanti del progetto. E così, a fianco al gruppo dei giovani interpreti, appaiono i genitori che portano le loro testimonianze sulla scena attraverso video interviste: storie di gravidanze difficili, nascite premature, adozioni.
«In stato di grazia» può raccontare il dolore e sperare di non ferire. Portare alla luce, forse, un messaggio che schiuda le coscienze e l'ascolto per la nascita di una società più aperta e inclusiva.

**The Road to Adult Life**

Eight teenagers with and without disabilities talk on stage about their lives and their personal everyday lives, inspired by the story of Pinocchio and his father Geppetto. They are parent-child stories with special prerequisites. In the touching production "In stato di grazia", all eight young people on stage are at the same time Pinocchio, how he tortures himself at school because no one there can really respond to his needs, and how on his journey into the world he not only meets the blue fairy, who is sometimes a strict teacher and sometimes a loving companion, but also helplessly at the mercy of many limits in everyday life. In the process, theatrical scenes interweave with dance and other narrative forms. And inspired by the experiences of Pinocchio, the individual young people build a narrative bridge into their lives, their dreams and wishes for a good, independent future.

However, "In stato di grazia" is not only about the path to adult life, but above all about the relationship between young people and their parents. And so, in addition to the group of young performers, the parents also appear, bringing their feelings, needs and experiences to the stage in the form of video interviews: stories of difficult pregnancies, premature births, adoptions, experiences in everyday life with children with and without disabilities. And above all, the desire for an open, inclusive, tolerant society.

**The backstory**

The piece was born in Milan from a creative workshop process aimed at promoting dialogue between children without and with disabilities. Eight young people between the ages of 11 and 19 are now on stage. The starting point of the work was the story of Pinocchio. The relationship between Pinocchio and Geppetto, and thus between parents and children in general, was one of the fundamental themes of the project in "In stato di grazia".

Many questions about the demands of growing up flow into the production and form a bridge between the fairytale story of Pinocchio and the different realities of young people in the here and now. The play focuses on the relationship between them and their parents: from conception to birth, from school entry to puberty, to the dream of an independent future.
