The actor Matthias Peter and the double bass player Ralph Hufenus have created a 75-minute text performance on the novel "Fall in the Sun" by Charles Ferdinand Ramuz and give the rousing scenes of the polyphonic novel an unforgettable sound.

Charles Ferdinand Ramuz (1878-1947) is considered the most important representative of Swiss literature in the French language. His novel "Sturz in die Sonne" was published by Limmat Verlag in May 2023 and has been reprinted three times since then.

At the beginning there is a scientific discovery: Due to an accident in the gravitational system, the earth crashes back into the sun." It will get hotter and hotter, and everything will die quickly," writes C. F. Ramuz laconically. The people on the shores of Lake Geneva don't want to believe it at first and enjoy the beautiful weather. But then it becomes clear that there is no escape from the heat, the joy turns to fear as the trees wither, the glaciers melt and the social order begins to disintegrate.
