Lecture and book presentation on "Johannes I: The undertakings of the master builder Johannes Badrutt in the Engadin" With the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, the Badrutt family from Pagig made hotel history. The foundation for the rise of the family into the highest social circles was laid by master builder Johannes Badrutt, who emigrated to the Upper Engadin in the early 19th century. Who was master builder Badrutt? And why did he leave his hometown early to seek a livelihood outside of Schanfigg? Madlaina Bundi, author, has followed the traces of "Johannes I." In her lecture, she provides insights into the living conditions of an enterprising businessman in the first half of the 19th century. After the lecture, a reception invites guests to converse with Madlaina Bundi.
