Description

The Pass Diesrut and the Greina Pass were already used crossings in the Bronze Age and especially in the Middle Ages well-known mule tracks. Also let yourself be surprised by the diverse plant life! Along the way, marmots and with some luck chamois and ibex can be observed.

Hidden Gem

From the end of June to the beginning of October, the section Vrin - Puzzatsch can be shortened with the alpine bus. Please note the timetable: https://www.surselva.info/Sommer/Wandern/Bus-alpin

From Pass Diesrut you can also descend directly to the plain and from there hike to the Capanna Scaletta or the Terrihütte. With this route choice, you will pass the impressive suspension bridge over the Rein da Sumvitg.

Safety Note

Warning: Snowfields may be present on high sections even into the summer months.

In case of uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Equipment

Good hiking boots with good grip, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket/sun protection), change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, food, hut sleeping bag, possibly hiking poles.

The Punt la Greina suspension bridge is 65 metres long and leads from Péz Tgitschen to Muot la Greina over the Rein da Sumvitg at the bottleneck. Due to the construction of the bridge, the way from the Pass Diesrut to the Terrihütte has become easier and, above all, safer.
