The landscape around Seewis enchants at any time of year. The winter in the Islat Valley is especially charming, where at times you feel like in a fairy tale of snow and ice.

Description
From the peaceful village of Seewis, which lies a little above the valley floor, the romantic winter hiking trail leads over the plain of the Islat Valley, down valley towards the Grisons Rhine Valley. Beneath the protective, thick layer of snow lies a flat moor of national significance, about seven hectares in size. The last section up to the hamlet of Fadära passes through a light forest area. On the south-facing and weather-protected slopes of the Vilan, the climate is particularly mild.
The most beautiful way is to hike back the same way. You get back to Seewis a little faster on the road. The right-angled road network, unusual for a mountain village, and the solid construction style, which you notice with surprise, were created after the devastating village fire of 1863.
