Suggestive hiking route that leads to the beautiful summit nestled between Valle Mesolcina, Val Calanca and Rheinwald. The climb is easy thanks to the gentle slopes, while the last strip of the route requires caution and mountaineering experience.

Description

It starts from the village of San Bernardino, you reach the campsite near the Restaurant-Hostel Genziana, continue along the road of the Pass up to the hairpin bend that precedes Ca de Mucia. Here you cross the stream, climb towards La Leca and continue west with a crossing that leads to the Mucia Glacier. You go up the Glacier in a north-westerly direction to the beginning of the canal, where you will leave your skis; due to the melting of the Glacier and possibly the little snow, you have to pay close attention to the channel. At this point you continue on foot along the steep channel to the snowy ridge, from here you can easily continue to the summit.

Ausrüstung

Never underestimate the mountain. Even for the easiest tours with seal skins we strongly recommend bringing all the safety material. Shovel, probe, ARVA and possibly the backpack with flotation device should be part of the equipment of every ski mountaineer.
