Details
Description
After Innerferrera, magnificent arch bridges and imposing retaining walls made of natural stone as well as tombini (water passages) keep boredom at bay. At Avers-Cröt, the path steeply ascends and leads over the well-preserved Cresta Rhine Bridge and two other historic stone arch bridges, called Furra, up to Avers-Cresta. From Avers-Cresta, you get a first glimpse of the high valley with its Walser houses, some of which are over 400 years old and scattered throughout the valley. The traditions of the Walser are still maintained today and the Walser dialect is spoken.
