Description

There has been fresh snow and we are ready to start even before the first rays of sunshine reach the valley floor. In the lower part of the tour, up to the height of the mountain pastures of Giuv, we cross a toboggan run, then we pull a fresh ascent track into the still untouched snow cover. After the mountain pastures of Liets, we have to be careful not to get into the wildlife rest zone, which reaches Plaun Liets and Sum Fil.  In regular hairpin bends we quickly gain altitude and we overlook more and more the whole valley. In the nearby ski resort, the first alpine athletes are already on the road. The mighty south face of Piz Culmatsch is getting closer and closer. A dilapidated alpine hut promises to be an ideal resting place and we decide to finish the ascent here. Although the tour could still be extended with some hairpin bends. We do not stay too long, because the south-facing slopes warm up very quickly.

Geheimtipp

With fresh snow and low temperatures you get the ultimate pleasure!

Sicherheitshinweis

Be careful when crossing the toboggan run.

Directions

From the parking lot we walk over the bridge and then on the toboggan run to the railway line. Here we choose the route freely across the field. At the height of the chapel in Giuv we climb in regular hairpin bends towards the north to the mountain pastures of Liets.  We always have the Piz Culmatsch right in front of us. From Liets we are on the left of a wildlife rest area. The descent runs along the ascent route.
