Alter Zerfreilaweg mit historischen Flurnamen

Beautiful, varied hike through forests and over green meadow terraces. In the past, the old Zerfreila Trail was the only connection between Zerfreila and Vals on the right side of the valley. Shady forest paths with steeper, stony pathways alternate with green meadows. For the most part, however, the path runs in the forest. There are always interesting things along the way: The "warm Kracha", a deep crevice, the Calvari chapel in the forest and also the view into the deep Rotabärg gorge again and again.

In the summer of 2017, the old Zerfreilaweg was provided with plaques indicating the historical field names. A flyer is available when entering and exiting the hike or at the Visit Vals tourist office.

From the parking lot of the sports tracks to the left of zerfreilastrasse, follow the steep path above the road. Below the Gross Cheer, the old Zerfreilaweg crosses the road for the first time. Continue following the path. After the second crossing of the Zerfreilastrasse over a small stream. Crossing another stream to Grüana Wasa. The path continues over the Seetobel (the stream that flows out of the Selvasee) ascending on large pieces of rock and stones stairs upwards. On the right past the image balma. Now the path becomes less steep and leads in forest clearings with wet rock slabs to the height of the Rotabärg. Almost vertically, the rocks on the right hand fall into the gorge. Now again over a stream. On the left hand comes the tilt. Now in partly light forest to the Geissfelli. Continue past the Warma Kracha (a deep crevice) to the Calvari Chapel. Continue to the forest meadow Ussera Bleika and then to the Inner Bleika. Follow the path to the restaurant Zervreila through sparse trees.
