Arflinafurgga - Durannapass

The Fideriser Heuberge are known for their biodiversity. You can feel it already after the start of the route at Berghaus Arflina. It smells of flowers, of mountain meadows. The forest road leads past the Clunerseen with a magnificent panoramic view of the Rätikon range at your back. The last altitude meters to the Arflinafurgga are pushed until the view into the Schanfigg opens up. From this point, you can either head toward Chur via Peist/St.Peter, or if you want to go to Arosa or back to Prättigau, follow the sign Pirigen/Langwies. Unfortunately, on both variants, the altitude meters are lost on alp roads because the single trails end here after about one kilometer. From Langwies, it either goes back to Prättigau via the alp road or along a mountain stream, via the pretty hamlet of Strasberg (with a possibility to stop for a meal), over the Durannapass with the Grüensee, past the Alp Duranna over single trails and forest roads down to Klosters.

Those who like to take more time to recharge their batteries should ideally combine the route with an overnight stay and spend the end of the evening at the idyllic Clunerseen, enjoying the biodiversity in the unique moorland landscape, which strongly resembles the Scottish Highlands. The Berghaus Arflina offers with its freshly renovated rooms, showers, and toilets a little mountain luxury at 2000 meters above sea level, providing plenty of relaxation and a carefree mountain summer. Bikers who stay overnight at the Berghaus can have their bike clothes washed in the in-house laundry.
