Easy circular hike from Tschappina/Obergmeind via the Lüschersee to the Glaspass
Details
Description
In 1910, the naturally formed Lüschersee was drained because it was suspected to be connected to the landslides at Heinzenberg. Extensive geological and hydrological investigations ultimately showed that the lake plays a fairly minor role in the landslides.
So in 2022, the lake was refilled experimentally and now serves as a reservoir for a technical snowmaking system for the Tschappina-Lüsch-Urmein ski lifts during the winter.
From Obergmeind, the route goes over Brandegga up to the Lüschersee and further to the Glaspass. The return route goes down the Glaserstrasse to the Tschappina Oberbutzweg bus stop. From there, it goes through the forest on woodland paths up to Brandegga and finally back down to Obergmeind.
