Circular hiking route Klosters Stage 7 - Schlappin - Saas

This path leads you from the Walser settlement Schlappin down the valley to the 70.5m long suspension bridge. This bridge, which was opened in June 2017, is probably the newest section on this path, from which you can partially see the current national road, the cantonal road, the old valley road, and the railway line. That the Prättigau and thus also Klosters are so well connected in terms of transport is not a matter of course. In 1900, the Small Council even issued a general ban on driving automobiles on all roads of the canton of Graubünden!

From Schlappin: Follow the road and turn onto the forest path at the signpost, which leads you towards "Flue." Once you reach the "Flue," you will come to a gravel road. Follow this towards "Schlappintobel." The gravel road leads you to Schlappinstrasse, continue downwards towards "Klosters Platz." As soon as you see the suspension bridge on your right, turn off at the next signpost towards "Mezzaselva." Then follow the first signpost to "Klosters Dorf," and then each towards "Mezzaselva" and "Serneus." Once you reach the waterfall, a small detour to the "viewing platform" at the base of the waterfall is worthwhile. The path then continues, following the "mountain hiking trail" signpost uphill to a gate. Pass through this and from now on follow the signposts towards "Saas." At one point, you will reach a gravel road again, which you must cross and then follow the narrower path into the forest. At the height of the bus stop "Waldhof," follow the signpost towards the fire pit. From the fire pit, follow the gravel road that passes the outdoor toilet. Then follow the road down towards "Saas Station" and afterwards towards the "nature trail." At the end of the nature trail, follow the signpost towards the "panoramic path." Once you have reached the end of the panoramic path, follow the signposts towards Saas village.

- Klosters Dorf, bus stop Rufinis (follow the signposts towards Schlappin until you discover the suspension bridge on your left)

- Bus stop Überm Bach (from here, follow the signposts towards Saas) - Bus stop Waldhof (follow the signposts towards the fire pit)

Optional end points:

- Bus stop Rufinis (follow Schlappinstrasse downhill instead of crossing the suspension bridge until you reach the main road)

- Bus stop Mezzaselva (immediately after the bridge at the waterfall, turn left, follow the path down until you reach the road, then follow it to the right)

- Bus stop Waldhof (from the barbecue area, follow the road down until you reach the main road).
