Description

After a short warm-up in the village of Grüsch, things really get down to business: In less than one kilometre, you have to climb around 300 metres in altitude in countless serpentines. After that, it becomes much flatter. After a short stretch on a gravel road you can turn into a wonderful path. This leads in constant up and down to the Crupspitz. Once there, you can enjoy a great view of the front Prättigau. This is followed by a short, steep descent to Furgga, where the trail reaches the Prättigauer Höhenweg. Follow this road to picturesque Seewis. Here this route leaves the well-known long-distance hiking trail to get past the castle ruins of Solavers back to Grüsch.

About the author:

Stephan Hugenschmidt is the winner and course record holder of the Eiger Ultra, Zugspitz Ultratrail and Madrisa Trail. Stephan lives in Grüsch and knows the trails in Prättigau like the back of his hand. He particularly loves in Prättigau that the trails are not overcrowded and you can be on the road for hours in an intact nature.

Geheimtipp

Instead of walking back to Seewis at the Furgga, you can also follow the Prättigauer Höhenweg in the opposite direction. The trail thus reaches the well-known fadärastein viewpoint with the magnificent view of the Chur Rhine Valley. The route follows the well-developed hiking trail to the fork in the road at about 800 m. Here you can either continue to Malans and take the train back to Grüsch or you can walk through the Chlus back to the starting point.
