After the appetizer, hike up to Chrüz, where you will enjoy your deserved main course. The view of the seven Churfirsten is unique. Strengthened, continue to Alp Tannenboden where you will round off the culinary journey with dessert.
Hidden Gem
Combine the culinary route with a thrilling toboggan ride on the FLOOMZER (optional).
Safety Note
The path from the Winkelzahn junction to Mountain Restaurant Chrüz is a narrow mountain hiking trail.
Equipment
Normal hiking equipment. Depending on the weather, good footwear (hiking boots) is recommended, otherwise light trekking shoes are sufficient for the route.
Directions
Flumserberg Tannenboden – Restaurant Molseralp
From the Flumserberg Tannenboden parking lot (paid), you can reach the Restaurant Molseralp in 2-5 minutes on foot. The restaurant is located west of the valley station of the Chrüz chairlift.
Optionally, before having your appetizer, you can enjoy the view of Lake Walen on the lake view circular trail. To do this, turn right onto the circular trail next to the valley station of the Chrüz chairlift (in front of the two stables) (route approx. 700 m, duration 15 min).
Restaurant Molseralp – Mountain Restaurant Chrüz
The first part of the path from Restaurant Molseralp to Mountain Restaurant Chrüz leads you along a hiking trail directly next to the Chrüz chairlift until you reach the gravel road (Rotberg signpost). Alternatively, you can take the slightly easier gravel road from Molseralp under the toboggan run towards Schwammkopf. Follow the gravel road further under the BergJet gondola, the Chrüz lift, and the toboggan run until you also reach the Rotberg signpost. Then follow the Winkelzan signpost. In Winkelzan, continue towards Seebenalp. After the curve, turn left onto the forest trail towards Chrüz (3 km, approx. 1 hour). If you want to make a detour to the Seeben lakes, add about 1 hour for the additional route Winkelzan - Seeben lakes - Winkelzan.
Mountain Restaurant Chrüz – Restaurant Sennästube
Hike below Mountain Restaurant Chrüz towards Tannenboden until the next junction (Rotberg signpost). There, turn right towards Tannenboden (under the toboggan run). In the forest, you will reach a fork (BikerTrail junction). There, turn right towards the Heidi & Peter rest hut. At the Heidi & Peter rest hut, you have the choice of how to hike to Sennästube. Straight ahead is about 700 m. To the right, the gravel path first passes a clearing and then leads through the forest to the Madils plateau. This path is about 1.5 km long and the hiking time is around 30 minutes.
If you want to extend your hike after the main course, you can go from Mountain Restaurant Chrüz towards Prodalp. The hike also starts next to Mountain Restaurant Chrüz and initially leads with an ascent through the forest beside the chairlift valley station. Afterwards, enjoy a wonderful panorama. After 1.8 km and 40 minutes, you reach Prodalp. From Prodalp, two hiking trails lead to Alp Tannenboden/Restaurant Sennästube. The direct one goes past the CLiiMBER climbing tower on a narrow, somewhat steep path. You need about 30 minutes (1.5 km) for this. The somewhat longer (2.6 km and 45 min), but easier path, mostly paved, passes the Prodalp Express upper station on the way to Sennästube.
Restaurant Sennästube – Flumserberg Tannenboden
For the last part of the hike, follow the road past the stables towards Tannenboden. Just below Restaurant Sennästube, turn left onto the gravel path and follow it until you reach the starting point of the hike again.
