Running on the Jakobshorn ridge with views of the two Davos side valleys: this trail promises that and much more.
Details
Description
Jakobshorn is the central mountain on the east side of Davos. From the panoramic terrace at the mountain station of the cable car, you look down on the village of Davos and its two side valleys: Dischma and Sertig. The path leaves the cable car station heading southeast towards Tällifurgga, crosses the Jatzhorn and the Witihüreli, before descending and leading along the slope back to the reservoir lake and finally to the Jatzhütte. Those who are already tired can skip another 4 km with 300 meters of elevation by reaching the cable car station directly from the hut. On the way down to the other reservoir lake, the path passes under the cable car, before zigzagging steeply upwards and finally returning over the ridge back to Jakobshorn.
Hidden Gem
The shorter variant of this route (returning directly to Jakobshorn after reaching the Jatzhütte) is 10 kilometers long and has 400 meters of elevation gain.
Safety Note
All routes in the Davos Klosters Ridges collection feature exposed sections. A certain level of running confidence and surefootedness is required. Plan your route and pack your equipment accordingly.
