Details

Description

A good round for half a day. Fast descent to Litzirüti. At Sonnenrüti, we turn right and ride along the road to Medergen, a small, cozy mountain village with a magnificent view of the Graubünden mountains. The nice restaurant is suitable for a break. The following descent to the reservoir is technically quite demanding. Bikers who are less confident should better take the same way back. Over roots, large stones, and steep sections, the path leads us back to the Isel and from there back to Arosa.

Hidden Gem

Bike stop at Alpenrösli in Medergen.

Equipment

Directions

Public Transport

Slowly like a tram, the Arosa train chugs through Chur, past the city wall, Maltese Tower, and Obertor, the landmark of the capital of Graubünden. But soon the city stroll on rails is over. At the city limit, the Arosa train transforms into a mountain railway and winds through the wild Schanfigg valley up to the well-known holiday resort Arosa. On the only 26 km long route, the train climbs over a thousand meters high.

Travel Information

From Chur, it takes about 40 minutes uphill on a winding road. The Schanfiggerstrasse winds through the valley and overcomes 1320 m of elevation difference over 30 km and about 360 curves.

Parking

The Ochsenbühl parking garage is located directly next to the starting point.
