Description

The Erzminen Passes route starts and ends in Innerferrera in Avers. At the beginning you run downhill again towards Cresta, where the long ascent up to the Pass da Schmorras at 2,563 m above sea level follows. After a short downhill, the second pass crossing of the route follows with the Fuorcla Starlera. The positive altitude meters are done! The subsequent descent through the Val Starlera is pure enjoyment and makes trailrunning hearts beat faster.

The historic mining in Schams, Ferrera valley, and the front Rhinewald once had great importance for the region. In the Hinterrhein area ore was extracted at 24 well-known places. Parts of these mining areas now lie within the catchment area of the Beverin Nature Park.
