This challenging route leads to 2594 m above sea level, to the SAC hut Chamanna d'Es-cha. The hut is like a balcony high above the Engadin with Piz Kesch in the background and a breathtaking Alpine panorama in front of you.

Description
The route starts at the tourist information of La Punt, a village with stately patrician houses from the 16th and 17th centuries at the foot of the Albula Pass. After crossing the Inn and the main road, the path leads the first 500 m along the Albula Pass road; turn left at the first curve to leave the road and follow the Albula stream (Ova d'Alvra in Romansh). At Alp Proliebas you cross the pass road and take the hiking trail towards Alp Es-cha Dadour. Across pasture land you climb towards Es-cha hut, constantly keeping Piz Kesch in view. Don't forget to glance over your shoulder to enjoy the panorama of the entire Bernina group. After a well-deserved break at the hut, a manageable traverse towards the Albula Pass awaits; note: in early summer you may still encounter some snowfields. After the Fuorcla Gualdauna the path leads down to the Albula Pass road, which you cross to take the way back to La Punt under your feet.
