Description
The route begins in Samnaun village with alternating ascents and descents. First, it goes uphill on a forest road to the viewpoint at 2150 meters. After a challenging climb of 80 meters in elevation, which has to be partially pushed, there is a breathtaking panorama of the Samnaun valley. An varied descent with steep, rooty, and winding sections that provide an adrenaline kick awaits. Once at the forest road, you can ride up the forest road to Fuorcla Curschiglias, where a bench invites you to a short break, then descend the somewhat more difficult trail with many hairpin bends. Or you can take the easier option down along the forest road to Samnaun-Laret.
The Fair Trail Schäfersteig requires technical ability and endurance and rewards the effort with spectacular views over the Samnaun valley. The route is demanding.
