Description

On the alpine path behind Monstein to Oberalp and further to the Fanezmeder. The Oberalpbach is crossed under the small steep section before the Fanezmeder. It continues partly pathless through gradually ascending, flower-rich mountain meadows into the high basin of the Bärentällis. Soon the Fanezfurgga is reached. Descend eastwards to the first small stream and further ahead, above the waterfall, the water is crossed. A short ascent and then down a steep path to the end moraine of the former Chüealpgletscher and further on to Sertig Sand.

Places worth seeing along the hike:

Monstein
Monstein still shows the unmistakable features of a typical Walser village. The village is a little gem with wooden houses—some even still roofed with larch shingles—and storage houses on stilts. A view from Monstein leads directly into the Albula Valley. In Monstein, you will find one of the highest breweries in Europe. The beer brewed with fresh mountain spring water can be tasted at BierVision or in the restaurants Ducan and Veltlinerstübli. Treat yourself to this refreshment! Cheers! You can reach Monstein by the VBD line 7 to Glaris station and from there by line 10.

Oberalp
Oberalp is one of the three Monstein Alps. A look back reveals the beautiful location of Monstein amidst magnificent spruce and larch forests.
Fanezmeder
The mountain meadows of the Fanezmeder belong to the Monstein Oberalp. They are known for the extremely good herbs growing here, which produce an excellent hay.

Fanezfurgga
The Fanezfurgga lies between the dolomite ridge Strel and the Chrachenhorn. The Ducan chain is separated from the Monstein chain by the valley of Val da Stugl and Ducantales. The mountain pass Fanezfurgga leads from Monstein through the Oberalp valley over to the Ducantal and then down into Sertig.

Ducantal
The Ducantal extends over a length of approximately 4.5 km from the Wasserfallalp in Sertig up to the Ducanfurgga.

Sertig Dörfli
Sertig Dörfli is rightfully one of the most popular excursion destinations for Davos guests. Breathtaking mountain surroundings, a massive waterfall, and a magnificent mountain church captivate the visitor. Indulge yourself with fine delicacies at the Walserhuus restaurant or with mountain guides. The local bus brings you back to Davos.

Note(s)
In Davos Klosters, hikers and mountain bikers share the same trails without restrictions. This applies to the entire canton of Graubünden and is unique in the Alps.
