From the glacier to the Rhine
The ultimate Enduro route from the peaks of the Surselva to the deepest point of the Rhine Gorge.
Details
Description
From the Flims valley station, the FlemX takes you to Nagens Sura station. Already during the ride, you can enjoy the view of the Sardona UNESCO World Heritage area with the Segnesboden and the Tschingelhörner peaks. From Nagens, follow bikeroute 274 towards Vorab. The 600-meter ascent to the mountain station goes through the karst landscape of the Vorab glacier and is snow-free early, while the last ascent to the Laaxer Stöckli can still have snow until July.
At the top, a spectacular view of the main Alpine ridge awaits you, from Tödi to the Bernina group. Follow the ridge by the white-blue markings and later the white-red signs through the rocky landscape. After crossing the road, the trail changes from playful to technical and leads over Alpine meadows to Alp Sogn Martin. After a short transfer, you enter the Nagens Trail and then the Runca Trail to Flims Waldhaus. Via the bike path, it continues to Salums and into the Rhine Gorge, where the Ustria Bargaus invites you to take a break.
Hidden Gem
From Valendas Station, you can return by train, post bus, or bike. E-bikers can charge their bike at the charging station by the train station café.
Safety Note
Swimming in the Rhine is recommended during snowmelt.
