Description
The route starts in Lenzerheide at the Rothorn valley station. With the lifts the Rothorn summit is reached in no time. Now it starts, on the technically demanding singletrail it goes towards Alp Sanaspans. Shortly before reaching the alp, the hiking trail branches left towards Culmet/Furcletta. From this turn it means about 1.5 hours of carrying and pushing the bike. The highest point is reached on Culmet, the view rewards the sweaty ascent. From there it goes down a few more meters until the last ascent to Furceletta begins. This is conquered after about 20 minutes and the first stage goal is reached. Ahead lies the magnificent Welschtobel. 14 km of flowy, partly gravelly singletrail awaits. The next stage goal is reached at Isla in Arosa. From there it goes leisurely up the road to Arosa and to the Hörnli Express valley station. The lift brings the bikers back to Hörnli. The choice, either with the Urdenbahn or to cross the Urdental itself is entirely up to the biker. From Urdenfürggli the path leads via Motta back to Scharmoin. From Scharmoin a short pedaling section leads to Alp Scharmoin. The following singletrail to Parpan forms the crowning finale of a magnificent route.
This route is the perfect starting point for a two-day route with overnight stay at the Ramoz hut. The hut is unstaffed and must be reserved in advance.
