Details
Description
The panoramic trail starts at the Schwänzelegg mountain hut at around 1800 m above sea level. You can comfortably reach it by gondola. The 360° view sweeps from the Vilan over the Schesaplana, the highest mountain of the Rätikon massif at 2965 meters, to Klosters and the Weissfluh summit. Behind the Chur local mountain Calanda, you can see the Sardona tectonic arena with the eponymous Piz Sardona. To the west lies the Rhine Valley and above Lake Walen the Churfirsten rise.
Besides the large panoramic loop, you can shorten the route and do just a small loop. The panoramic trail is classified as moderately difficult and very undulating.
Dogs that do not disturb or obstruct other cross-country skiers, do not run in the tracks, and do not leave unsightly markings (where they do, proper disposal is required) are allowed on the trail.
Hidden Gem
Changing and shower rooms in the Schwänzelegg mountain hut. Please request a key at the ticket counter. The use of the facilities is included in the mountain railway ticket.
