Description

A diverse panorama hike, which starts at the summit station Flums-Kleinberg and goes through the unspoiled landscape of Alp Mädems. A ridge trail runs up to Guscha summit from where the path goes downhill back to the starting point.

The route starts at the cable car summit station Flums-Kleinberg. As compared to the famous hiking and skiing resort of the Flums mountains, which is located at the opposite side, this area is smaller and has retained its familiar character. It is regarded to be an insider's tip for nature enthusiasts for both summer and winter season.

From the summit station follow the trail over meadows and through sparse forests. After about half an hour you will leave the forest behind to reach the ample moor and alpine landscape Fulriet/Mädems. After having reached the Alp buildings of Alp Mädems (where you can buy delicious Alpine cheese), the path turns right and goes uphill via the flank to Chammhüttli.

The ridge path and panorama hiking trail to Guscha summit via Vorderchamm is a true delight and offers a unique panorama view: on the opposite side of the valley you can see the plateau of Palfries with the Alvier chain in the background. The Flums mountains are at the left; at the right you can see the Pizol region while Seez valley spreads beneath your feet. You will descent on a quite narrow, partially steep but well passable trail.
