Description

The Heinzenberger Maiensässroute starts at the Marktwiesenstrasse car park in Thusis. On the valley floor, you ride parallel to the Hinterrhein to Rothenbrunnen station. From here, take the forest road uphill to Fantanuglias. This section covers most of the elevation gain of the route. From Fantanuglias, continue via Prau da l'Alp to Dultschegnas and via Spatla Bella, Porteiner Alp, and Tgiern Olt to Obergmeind. From Obergmeind, there is one last slight ascent to Glaspass. Then the descent continues through the villages of Tschappina, Urmein, and Masein, back to the starting point in Thusis. Enjoy the view towards Domleschg and the surrounding mountain scenery.
