Description

This hike starts leisurely on the Hörnli, the summit that you can easily reach with the Hörnli-Express. The start is comfortable and slightly downhill beneath the Plattenhorn. Afterwards, the trail leads above the Carmenna hut through a magnificent landscape, with a constant view of the panorama over the lakes and houses in Arosa. Then the path climbs steeply up over the Carmennapass towards Arosa Weisshorn. After a final steep ascent to the Weisshorn summit, a magnificent 360-degree view awaits over the entire Schanfigg down to Chur and up to the highlands. The Hörnli hut and the 360° panorama restaurant at the Weisshorn summit offer tasty refreshments and culinary highlights.

Hidden Gem

At the Carmennapass there is a wooden box containing the legend "Der Gottlobstein beim Carmennapass". An exciting opportunity to be transported back to earlier times.

Directions

Public Transport

From Chur, the Rhaetian Railway runs hourly to Arosa (and also in the opposite direction). From Arosa station, the local bus takes you in a few minutes to the valley station of the Hörnli-Express. From the Weisshorn summit, you return to the village by two sections of the Arosa-Weisshorn aerial cableway. The valley station is located very close to the train station.

Travel Information

From Chur, follow the traffic signs to Arosa. In the village, drive along the main road to Innerarosa and turn left at the Gada bus stop.

Parking

At the entrance to the village, there is a large sign with the different parking options. At the Hörnli-Express valley station, a few parking spaces are available. Alternatively, it is recommended to park in the Brüggli parking garage. From there, you can reach the Hörnli-Express valley station in about 10 minutes on foot.
