Details

Description

The frozen waterfall in Sertig is mainly suitable for multi-pitch routes with a length of 150 to 180 climbing meters. The difficulty levels vary from easy (WI 3) to very challenging (WI 5). That means: there is a suitable route for every climbing level here. Ice climbing beginners should ideally be accompanied by a mountain guide.

Hidden Gem

For a refreshment after ice sport climbing, the Hotel Walserhuus invites you with regional cuisine.

Safety Note

Rockfall and spontaneous avalanches can occur at any time. Icefall can also happen during high traffic.

Equipment

Compared to normal rock climbing, additional equipment is required. This includes ice screws, rope-mounted ice axes, special crampons, and gloves with good grip. If you are missing anything for ice climbing, you can rent it locally in Davos at the sporting goods store Fullmoons.

Directions

From the parking lot at Hotel Walserhuus follow the path to the last bridge before the waterfall. Over the bridge and up the slope directly to the starts (about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on whether the path is already tracked).
