Description

From the Spleekapelle Sargans, the path leads via Sargans Castle along the wine trail to Heiligkreuz. Here we continue to the Hagerbach test tunnel. A restaurant or the place of encounter with fire pit invite you to linger. The hike then continues towards Flums, with beautiful views of the valley, the Flumserberge, the waterfall Ragnatscherbach and the Churfirsten. Via Hochwiesen, the path then goes to the end point at Flums station.

On the way there are 15 boards with information about the history of the region. These boards were designed by school classes for the 1250th anniversary. They contain interesting information about the floods in Flums and Mels, Pfäfers Abbey, the Rhaeto-Romanic language, the place and field names, Nidberg Castle, the County of Sargans, the will of Bishop Tello, the Mels Monastery, Gonzenbergwerk or the town of Sargans.

The trail can also be started at Flums station and ends at the Splee Chapel in Sargans. From there it is only a five-minute walk to the train station. The whole hike is located on the southern slope and therefore offers good weather conditions.
