Description

Cross-country skiing along the Rhine is a pleasure for young and old, beginners and experts alike. With all the loops, there are over 30 km of trails, groomed with the latest technology, classic and skating style. (Disentis - Trun - Disentis)

Skiers start in Disentis, at the Klosterhof in Salaplauna. After an initial loop on a large meadow, there is a sporty descent down to the Rhine. The quiet rushing of the water is from now on your constant companion; the trail runs sometimes on the left, then again on the right side of the Rhine, and leads through alder forests and over flat meadows. There are places to stop in Surrein, and in Trun you can enjoy culture. Beside the trail is the Senda d`Art, where remarkable art objects by various local artists can be seen in the open air.

If you still have enough energy, you can ski back from Trun to Disentis. For recreational athletes, returning by train is recommended.

Night trail Trun: On the 5 km long night trail in Trun, you glide under floodlights on 4 weekdays (Monday to Thursday) from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Sun trail: On the 3.5 km long loop trail Salaplauna-Rieven, you can ski laps as often as you like.

Training trail: The 1.5 km long loop trail in Fontanivas is already snowed early in winter and is ideal for training.

Trail report: www.nordic-surselva.ch (In case of lack of snow, it is possible that only some sections of the trail are open)

Trail Segnas: If snow conditions allow, an additional loop trail of approx. 5 km is groomed in Segnas.
