Description
On the territory of the municipality of Sagogn, 27 of the total 73 different wild orchid species of Switzerland grow. Part of this extraordinary diversity grows along the edges of forest paths.
On the Senda d’orchideas (orchid trail) in Sagogn, a variety of different orchid species bloom repeatedly from mid-May to early August. The lady's slippers and the red forest bird orchid are especially well-known. Approximately every two weeks, different species bloom, so the walk can be done several times.
The ascent through the bizarre Val Mulin is a special experience. Two fireplaces invite you to grill.
The orchids are strictly protected, picking is prohibited!
Hidden Gem
The lady's slippers (in the east loop) bloom around the end of May/beginning of June.
Bring sausages and grill and relax at one of the two fireplaces.
