Path of Smuggling

This itinerary made history: indeed, by traveling the Rhaetian side of the Valtellina among the wonderful vineyards and numerous hamlets and villages, you can experience and cross the ancient "smuggling" paths. Rich in history and testimonies, in the past they were walked by many smugglers forced to carry on their backs goods from one side of the border to the other, which, according to the different eras, were convenient to "smuggle" (mostly coffee and processed tobacco). In this way, the survival of the Middle Valley economy was allowed, and an attempt was made to curb the emigration of local residents to various parts of the world.
