Pfäfers - Furggels - Chimmispitz - Pfäfers

Details
Description
From Pfäfers, the hiking trail leads us through the forest up to Furggels in the high valley of St. Margrethenberg. From Furggels we ascend to the striking Pizalun with an impressive panoramic view of the Rhine Valley, Prättigau and the Churfirsten. The ascent of the 20 m high rock tower via a vertical iron ladder is only recommended for people who are free of vertigo. We continue our hike, past the mountain farm to the Fürggli and the Grueber Allmeind. At the Golerberg, the magnificent view is worth a short stop. The next destination is the Alp Maton, partly we see into the Calfeisental and on Vättis, the furthest village of the Tamina Valley, which became famous by the bones of cave bears in the Dragon Hole. On this section we experience an impressive fauna and flora. We hike past the Alpine hut Maton to the Chimmispitz, where we once again admire an impressive panoramic view. The descent takes us back to Grueber Allmeind, then via Grueb and Sennhus back to Furggels, our starting point. To the left and right of the street, old stables and houses still bear witness to the heyday of the Pfäfers Monastery.
