Description

At leuchturm, the path leads slightly downhill along the pass road. After about 600 meters we cross the road, after which the path becomes wider. You are now on the former railway line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, which used to run openly around the flank of the Piz Calmot. Today, however, the railway largely disappears in a tunnel, a little later in a semi-open gallery. If it suddenly hums and rumbles: do not frighten. There is a train on the way. Where the train leaves the tunnel again, cross a viaduct over a rushing mountain stream. Zigzag along a meadow path to Tchamut, the first village on the young Rhine.

We move to the other side of the Rhine.  On a wide and comfortable hiking trail, through forest and over pastures, we reach the playground "Fontauna", below Rueras. You cross the Vorderrhein, walk past the campsite Rueras, up into the village. Here you cross the main road and walk properly at Sedrun station.
