Description

From Samnaun village, continue along the field road, steadily ascending to Val Musauna, always following the Schergenbach stream. From point 2087, the path becomes steeper until reaching the Zeblas meadows. From here, it's not far to the Zeblasjoch pass, where the national border to Austria lies. From Zeblasjoch, proceed about 600 meters back along the same path, then turn right past the hunting hut and a small pond towards the Sulner glacier. The last 500 meters follow the former lateral moraine of the glacier, formed at its highest extent around 1850. At the foot of the glacier, you are in an alpine landscape framed by Piz Vadret (Sulnerspitz) and the mighty slope of Piz Rots. There's little left of the glacier: just a small ice field remains, completely covered with debris. However, the view of the Samnaun valley is uniquely beautiful. The path then leads back to the Zeblas meadows and down to Samnaun village.

Hidden Gem

We advise against the Diretissima via Chavrà to Pischa, as this path is no longer maintained.

Safety Note

The route was assessed under favourable weather conditions; current weather conditions and forecasts must be strictly observed before starting the route. This hike requires basic alpine experience, orientation skills, hiking boots are recommended.
