This stage features the impressive moorland of the Segnasboden, thundering waterfalls, deep gorges, boldly constructed bridges and lush forests. On the Segnes pass at an altitude of 2,625 metres, exceptional geological phenomena can be admired from close up.

By cable car up to the Tschinglen Alp. Here begins the climb to Segnespass - always the Tschingelhörner and the Martinsloch in mind. Public Transport
The S25 takes you directly from Zurich to Schwanden every hour. From Chur take the train to Ziegelbrücke. In Ziegelbrücke change to the regional train to Schwanden. In Schwanden continue with the buses of the car operator Sernftal AG to Elm. In Elm get off at station «Bahnhof». Then follow the signpost. 1.2 km to the valley station of the Tschinglenbahn.
Travel Information
From Zurich or Chur along the A3 motorway to exit A44 (Niederurnen, Klausen, Glarus, Näfels). Then follow the main road through Glarnerland (Näfels, Glarus) to Schwanden. Turn off towards Elm and enter the Sernftal valley with the villages of Engi, Matt and Elm. Parking is available at the valley station of the Tschinglenbahn (Töniberg 17 in Elm).
