Description
From Innerarosa, the path leads past snowy winter landscapes to Schwellisee. The Plessur flows through Schwellisee, which was formed by a rockslide at Schafrügg. The area around Schwellisee was once surrounded by a larch forest cleared by the Walser. Above the lake, individual larches bear witness to that time. The path continues to the mountain restaurant Alpenblick and then back to Innerarosa. From there, a detour to Bergkirchli, the oldest building in Arosa, is worthwhile. The sunny wooden benches also offer a view of the panorama with Erzhorn and Aroser Rothorn. From Kirchli it is not far to the local history museum in the Eggahuus, a timber-framed building built around 1600. The local history collection includes a weaving room, stuffed animals, and a "sports section" with old skis and sleds.
This route is marked in both directions and indicated with the signs «287 Schwellisee winter hiking trail».
