Description
From Ardez the path leads into the Val Tasna. Following the mountain stream, it goes to Alp Valmala and Alp Urschai in the valley of the same name. At the end of the valley, near the junction to the Futschöl Pass, the most spectacular discoveries were made. It has been proven that under the large rocks of Plan da Mattuns, people sought shelter over 10,000 years ago. Also, ceramic remains around 3,000 years old were found on Plan da Mattun, suggesting that a certain form of alpine farming was already developing at that time. You leave Val d'Urschai on a somewhat steeper path heading toward the Futschöl Pass, the highest point of the hike. At the Futschöl Pass, the national border is also crossed. The path then leads down to the Jamtal Hut, which offers over 180 sleeping places and 225 restaurant seats. Along the Jambach stream, you walk about nine kilometers down the entire Jamtal to Galtür. The path should not be underestimated.
