This easy hike starts at the village square in Sufers in the Beverin Nature Park.
Details
Description
From the village square, the path leads gently downwards to the Sufnersee. At the junction, take the path northwards and hike along the Sufnersee up to the dam. Information boards from Kraftwerke Hinterrhein provide the opportunity to learn about the company’s facilities. Upon reaching the dam, the path turns south. Follow the path and enjoy the view of the Sufnersee in bright sunshine.
At the end of the Sufnersee, head uphill through the Göriwald to Panell. The last part of the hike leads from Panell via Fugschtwald to the Splügen Pass road. Alongside the Splügen Pass road runs the hiking trail into the village of Splügen. Splügen is considered one of the oldest and most typical pass villages in Graubünden. In 1995, it was awarded the prestigious Wakker Prize by the Swiss Heritage Society. The Rheinwald local history museum focuses on the history of transit traffic over the Alpine passes of Splügen and San Bernardino.
