Gray and mighty the rock colossi above, turquoise and lovely the lake below. The uniquely scenic family bike route offers lots of riding pleasure and quickly makes you forget how relentless the mountains might have been in the 18th century.

Description
The color of the faintly represented soldiers is slowly peeling off from the dam wall, the memory remains. It must have been quite uncomfortable when the famous Russian General Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov rescued his army in late autumn 1799 over the already snow-covered Panixer Pass from Glarus to Graubünden ahead of the advancing French. The three-thousanders Muttenstock, Ruchi, Chli Ruchi, and Hausstock, which must have appeared threatening to the exhausted soldiers, today form a spectacular backdrop for the circuit of Lag da Pigniu.
The route starts at the valley station in Brigels. You follow bike route no. 90 Graubünden Bike.
On bike route no. 90 Graubünden Bike, you go on the left lakeshore side towards Waltensburg. Continue until you reach the valley station Waltensburg (large parking lot). At the valley station, ride uphill to Andiast. Now pass through the beautiful mountain village to the end of the village. There you will find a fork. Take the left road and continue following no. 90 until you reach the main road between the village Pigniu and the reservoir. Now you must follow no. 225 Lag da Pigniu. Upon arrival at the reservoir, you can ride on the gravel road to the waterfalls at the end of the lake. The picnic places at the end of the lake and on the other side of the dam are excellent resting places. The return journey is made via the same route back to Brigels.
