At the beginning, a somewhat steeper route but a very rewarding ascent to Lai Nair with Piz Pisoc in the background, down to the small settlement of Avrona and back to Tarasp, Fontana passing the castle.

Description

On the circular route you can see the Catholic Church of Tarasp, the beautiful Lai Nair, and admire the view at the viewpoint "Mot da la Crusch".

Hidden Gem

On the way back from Avrona, a short detour at the exit of the forest to Munt da la Crusch (opposite the transmitter mast) is worthwhile. From here you have a beautiful view over Scuol, Sent, and even to Ftan.


Combine the route with a castle tour at Tarasp Castle.

Directions

After the hamlet Fontana Sura, steeply ascending through larch forest to the high plain of Lai Nair. Then through the forest to Avrona and back to Tarasp Fontana on a country road.

  • By PostAuto from Scuol-Tarasp, station to Tarasp, Fontana

  • From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or over the Flüela Pass into the Lower Engadin on H27




  • From the east: via Landeck / Austria in the direction of St. Moritz on H27




  • From the south: via Reschen Pass (Nauders-Martina) or Ofen Pass (Val Müstair-Zernez) on H27


    Cross the Inn bridge from the Engadin road (H27) between Ardez and Scuol to Tarasp
