The path to the chapels of the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz - Option 2

They are located in places like cliff edges, dangerous paths, or remote hamlets for protection against misfortune and danger. They bear witness to the gratitude and reflection of the local population.

On the east side of the Lenzerheide holiday region or the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz, no chapels are found because the settlement originated from the main fractions Lain, Muldain, and Zorten, and large parts of the forest area belonged to the municipality of Lantsch/Lenz.

Various hikes pass by the different chapels.

From Post Lenzerheide, you walk about 3 minutes to the St. Antonius Chapel, directly opposite the municipal building. This chapel was built by the Capuchins and was visited by farmers from the main fractions Lain, Muldain, and Zorten during the summer months for prayer. Then, the path continues via the campsite, Kanalweg to Lain-Trantamoira (about 1 hour), where the Marienkapelle (Plam Tgapalotta) is located. Now the path leads along the road uphill to Sporz (Hotel Guarda Val – about 30 minutes), where the St. Wendelin Chapel, dedicated in honor of the patron saint of shepherds, is located. The old chapel was formerly called Marienkapelle. Afterwards, the hike continues via Crestasweg over wide meadows with a wonderful panorama toward Savognin and the Albula Valley back to Val Sporz and Lenzerheide (about 45 minutes).
