Description
The Romansh language is one of the hallmarks of the region. An equally entertaining and informative educational trail runs from Foppa via Spaligna to Scheia and Fidaz. The signs are, of course, in Romansh and German.
The starting point of the hike is the valley station in Flims, from where we walk up towards Foppa. Once there, continuation is to Spaligna and further along the high path to Scheia. From there, forest trails lead to Spaligna and further along the high path to Scheia. Shortly after, you reach the Romansh educational path which accompanies us to Scheia. Interesting information about the area and its language can be found on various signs. At Spaligna, Prau Palusa, and Crap da Sigls, the hike passes dry meadows of national importance. The Flimserstein and the niche near Alp Nagens are the origin of the great Flims rockslide. The scarp was designated as the boundary line to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Tektonikarena Sardona. From Scheia, the route continues to Fidaz, past the restaurant, and down to Flims.
Safety Note
The extensive network of trails in Graubünden is almost equally open to hikers and bikers – provided there is tolerant behavior. We have a word for this: Fairtrail.
