An enjoyable walk from Milez via the mountain pasture Caspausa to Selva. T1
Details
Description
We benefit from the free local bus and get taken to Milez, an alpine pasture that is the center of the ski area in winter. In summer, it is very relaxed here, cows graze peacefully, and "hikers" or bikers meet at the Las Palas hut, a small, quaint restaurant.
Before us lies the Val Tujetsch with its villages and hamlets, and we hike through fragrant hay meadows with flowers and butterflies. We circle the Planatsch mountain lodge, and a few minutes later we arrive at the pretty mountain pastures of Caspausa.
Further along awaits a shady forest until we reach the pass road. On a stone-lined path we descend into the village of Selva, which burned down completely except for one house several decades ago. Afterwards, the village along with the church and parsonage was rebuilt. For some time now, the first golf course on the Rhine has also been located here. At the fork at the pass road, by the stone man, we wait for the local bus that takes us back to Sedrun.
Groups of 10 or more must register for the local bus by the day before: Tel. +41(0)79 681 76 23
Hidden Gem
The local bus is free for all guests.
Dining possibility in Selva at the golf restaurant. (Mid May to mid October)
Safety Note
Caution is advised when crossing the pass road in Selva.
Directions
From Milez we hike on a trail near the wires of the chairlift downhill until we meet the paved alpine road. After a short turn to the right, we continue immediately on a forest road below the Planatsch mountain lodge. Upon reaching the alpine huts in Caspausa, the forest road leads onto a meadow path, and in the forest onto a wide hiking trail. Before the forest, at the fork, we go straight ahead. After the forest, we cross the pass road and diagonally opposite begins the narrow descent to Selva. At the church, we turn left. This leads us onto the access road, which leads back up to the pass road, where the local bus stop is located.
