Details
Description
From Guarda, follow the first section of the route uphill along the Schellen-Ursli path. Towards Val Tuoi, cross the Clozza mountain stream and follow the path via Plan Champatsch to Alp Suot. On the opposite side of the valley, the path climbs again, first along a trail and then along a forest road to Alp Sura. Alp Sura is served during the summer grazing season. The route continues over alpine meadows with a slight ascent to Murtera Dadoura. You are now on one of the most scenic sections of the Via Engiadina. Murtera Dadoura marks the highest point of this stage. From there, descend over lush meadows and open pasture to the mountain farms of Munt and across the stream to Chöglas. Below the alpine road, the day's destination Ardez with its striking castle ruins is visible from afar. From Ardez station, trains run hourly in both directions of the valley.
