Description
From Ilanz, you pass the St. Martin church of Ilanz and continue upwards to Luven. In Luven, it is worth stopping by the Panera fire pit. The Panera was the largest spruce in Switzerland at 48 meters. However, it had to be felled in 2018 due to disease. To this day, you can find remains of the Panera at the fire pit.
After a few hundred meters of paved road, turn left onto a gravel road and hike initially uphill, later slightly downhill to Cumbel. Shortly before the village, at Plaun Rueun, there is another cozy barbecue spot. To your right stretches the Piz Mundaun, in front of you unfolds the Val Lumnezia with its wonderfully beautiful natural and cultural landscape.
Safety Note
In case of uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar develops during the hike, you should turn back in time.
