Description

It is not recommended to hike this route in rain or on wet paths, as there are very steep sections at Crap da Sevgein. Alternatively, you can take the easier path down via the old connecting road between Riein and Sevgein. The two hiking paths rejoin at the farm shop Cadalbert in Sevgein.

Already at the upper edge of the village of Riein, you can stock up on fine regional specialties at the farm shop Puzaniz of the Cabalzar family.

A rest at the Chischlatsch fire pit is recommended, which lies about halfway on the path from Crap da Sevgein down to the village of Sevgein. Here you can enjoy a picnic with a wonderful panorama.

In Sevgein, the path leads via Curschetta to the chapel s. Fossa or in German to the pilgrimage chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. In the past, up to 5,000 pilgrims visited this sacred place annually. On the way downhill to the village, you will pass the Ustria Cauma. Enjoy a refreshment or a fine ice cream sundae on the large terrace.

Arriving in Castrisch, you will experience a unique floodplain landscape with a nature reserve. You now hike along the young Rhine and already see some impressive rock walls of the Ruinaulta/Rhine Gorge. The path also passes the Isla Sut fire pit. At the end of this stage, the hiking trail leads you along the Rhine to Ilanz.
