Description

This stage begins with an ascent from Trun via Campliun and Rabius to Sumvitg. From there we descend a bit below the main road and reach Cunmpadials, and from there down to the Vorderrhein. We then follow this westwards to Disentis/Mustér, where we climb again to the road and railway line on the slope above. Here we have managed a large part of the Via Son Giachen, the part from Müstair in the Munster Valley to Mustér in the Surselva.
Disentis/Mustér is a good place to spend the night. The parish church and the Benedictine monastery are open during the day.

It is here at Disentis Monastery that the Rhine-Reuss-Rhône Trail begins. which offers a more direct connection via Oberalp and Furka to Valais and thus to Lake Geneva. This path is identical to ours up to Sedrun.

To the west of Disentis/Mustér, the trail then runs above the road and railway line to Sedrun, another predestined stage town, before the challenging crossing over the Chrützli Pass to Amsteg in the Reuss Valley and thus into the canton of Uri, where we separate from the path towards Valais.

Geheimtipp

Already on individual place names you can see that the Romance language also has roots here.
