Description

This stage begins with an ascent from Trun via Campliun and Rabius to Sumvitg. From there we descend below the main route again and reach Cunmpadials, and from there down to the Vorderrhein. We then follow this westwards to Disentis/Mustér, where we climb back to the road and railway line on the slope above. Here we have managed a large part of Via Son Giachen, the part from Mustair in the Münstertal to Mustér in the Surselva.
Disentis/Mustér is an ideal place to stay. The parish church and the Benedictine monastery are open during the day.

Here at Disentis Monastery also begins the Rhein-Reuss-Rhôneweg . which offers a more direct connection via Oberalp and Furka to Valais and thus to Lake Geneva. This path is identical to ours until Sedrun.

West of Disentis/Mustér, the path then runs above the road and railway line to Sedrun, another predestined stage location before the challenging transition over the Chrützli Pass to Amsteg in the Reuss Valley and thus into the canton of Uri, Here we separate from the path towards Valais.

Geheimtipp

Already on individual place names you can see that the Romance language also has roots here.
