Description

The viaCapricorn leads in three daily stages through pristine alpine landscapes right through the territory of the ibex colony at Piz Beverin with about 350 animals. The viaCapricorn is a mountain hike. For experienced hikers, each stage requires about 5-7 hours of walking time.


For wildlife observation, binoculars or a telescope are recommended in addition to mountain equipment. The hike passes through the Schams and Safien alpine world with its rich alpine fauna and flora and unique geology. On the Glaspass and in Safiental, there are rich Walser cultural landscapes to discover. On Alperschälli or in the area around Piz Beverin, it only takes a bit of luck to observe the impressive wild ibex in the wild.

Please note that viaCapricorn is a mountain hike. Sure-footedness is required. This route is not suitable for small children.

Equipment

Sturdy mountain boots with grippy soles, weatherproof and warm clothing, rain protection, food and sufficient water, sun and head protection, a small first aid kit, maps, possibly telescopic poles, binoculars or a telescope.
