Walserweg Safiental: Stage 2

Show all 8 images
Details
Description
This stage begins in the mountain village of Tenna and leads down to the valley floor. The path passes the Egschisee (reservoir) and follows the Rabiusa river, whose riverbed is shaped by near-natural floodplain forests. Time and again there are views of the higher hamlets, typical for the Safiental. With slight ups and downs, it goes through meadows and forests to Safien Platz.
Hidden Gem
Our tip for stage 2 of the Walserweg Safiental
Tenna Church: The beautifully restored frescoes from the late Middle Ages tell the Passion cycle and are of national importance. It is also worth taking a look at the beautifully decorated wooden ceiling.
Spensa - self-service shop: The Spensa - Safier word for pantry from before the fridge times - is always well stocked with products from the Safiental.
