Day 1: Chur
First stop: this Alpine town exudes charm with its winding alleys and historic buildings, and has numerous museums, cafés, boutiques and small parks to explore. If you want to see the Graubünden capital from above, make a detour to Brambrüesch, the mountain that’s right on Chur's doorstep. In addition to a magnificent view, it offers numerous opportunities for refreshments and paths for hiking and mountain-biking.

Day 2: Chur–Flims–Ilanz
The Il Spir observation deck in Flims offers a unique view of the Rhine Gorge – one of the most spectacular landscapes in Graubünden. From Flims Waldhaus, a good two-hour hike will take you to Il Spir and back. Immerse yourself in Romansh culture in Ilanz, the capital of the Surselva region. The Museum Regiunal Surselva provides an insight into life in the pre-industrial age, when the economy was based around crafts and trades, agriculture and self-sufficiency.

Day 3: Ilanz–Bergün
Today’s stage takes you directly through the Rhine Gorge on the Rhaetian Railway. The next highlight – the Landwasser Viaduct – lies on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Albula railway line between Thusis and Filisur. Three viewing platforms offer superb views of the imposing structure of the Rhaetian Railway. The route then continues to Bergün, where visitors can learn fascinating facts about the history of the Graubünden railways at the railway museum.

With the graubünden Pass, you can take it easy and enjoy unhindered travel on public transport throughout Graubünden. You can choose between a 2-day and a 5-day pass.
Day 4: Bergün–Pontresina
After the Albula Pass, you reach the Upper Engadine and continue on the Rhaetian Railway to Pontresina. Your next destination is the Diavolezza mountain vantage point, which offers stunning views of the Bernina massif, including Piz Bernina – Graubünden’s only four-thousand-metre peak.

Day 5: Pontresina–Zernez
Val Trupchun in the Swiss National Park is an animal lovers’ paradise. Ibex, red deer, chamois, marmots and even bearded vultures – this idyllic valley offers the best chance of seeing the ‘Big 5’ of the Alps. The four-hour circular hike to Val Trupchun, starting and finishing in S-chanf, leads through mixed forests, over bridges and past two mountain restaurants.

Day 6: Zernez–Davos
You pass through the Vereina tunnel to reach Davos Klosters, a mountain resort that boasts a wide range of activities. Hikers enjoy the quiet side valleys, families can explore the Madrisa-Land children’s adventure park and anyone who likes mountain biking or trail running will love the 700-kilometre trail network.

Day 7: Journey home
Before heading home, take a detour to Schatzalp, Davos’s ‘magic mountain’, for a walk or a whizz down the 500-metre-long summer toboggan run. We also recommend a visit to the Kirchner Museum Davos. Round off your tour of the Alpine Circle with a last coffee and cake at the Kaffee-Klatsch cafe in Davos or Klosters.
